Fueled by a passion for the Sea…
From Palm, PA to Marathon, FL, Eric has been fishing & hunting his entire life. He grew up hunting with his grandfather, and learning to fish fresh and saltwater all across the northeast, fueling his passion to work with marine life. He graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s of Marine Science/Oceanography & has called Marathon home since 2014 - originally moving here to pursue a career as a fish obtainer and animal transport specialist.
From pilchards to manta rays, Eric has worked along side some truly incredible animals, and people, while collecting and transporting a vast array of marine-life to public aquariums across the globe for millions to enjoy. If you have recently made a trip to an aquarium, domestic or abroad, chances are you’ve seen an animal he has handled.
While spending hundreds of hours diving as a fish obtainer, he was presented with the unique opportunity to learn our beautiful Florida Keys waters from the bedrock up; observing not only how the fish interact with bait on a hook, but how they navigate the ocean bottom and thrive in their habitat.
Now, as Spitters are Quitters Fishing, he is hoping to take this knowledge and his passion for wildlife and use it to offer unique insight and inspire guests aboard every charter and guided fishing trip, capturing those moments along the way.
When not fishing for work, you’ll probably catch him fishing for peacock bass in the Everglades, hiking through the woods, or working on custom Lichtenberg Fractal wood pieces in the workshop! Check out more at Twisted Sea Designs.
